Persol's legendary 714 folding sunglasses shot to fame in the 1960's, with Steve McQueen working them into his props for both The Thomas Crown Affair and The Getaway, and have become so synonymous with the actor that an original pair of his recently sold for $70,000 at auction.
Never to miss a trick, the Italian frame-makers have just rereleased a limited edition run of 10,000 bearing McQueen's signature blue lense and tortoise-shell colouring, and they are possibly the coolest sunglasses on the market today.
Destined to re-ignite the craze for bold coloured vintage sunglasses, these are sure to be a big hit this summ... hang on, why have they released them in October?!
